3 Signs Why Some Gay Men Are Actually Trans Women
In this video I address a pattern I see regularly in clinical practice: adults assigned male at birth who spent years or decades identifying as gay men before coming to understand that a trans woman identity had been present the entire time, waiting to be named.
Drawing on my work with this specific population, I walk through three clinical signs that suggest this may be happening — from the initial formation of a gay identity in the absence of any trans framework, to the gradual intensification of a desire to be seen and known as a woman, to the identity reorganization that tends to emerge most clearly in the context of intimacy with men.
This video is not about telling anyone who they are. It is about giving language to an experience that, for many people, has been very difficult to articulate.
