4 Signs You've Been Minimizing That You're a Trans Woman — For Years
In this video I explore something I observe regularly in my clinical work but that rarely gets named directly: the ways adults assigned male at birth minimize or contain a trans woman identity for years — sometimes decades — without fully realizing they are doing it.
Drawing on patterns from my practice, I walk through four specific signs of this minimization, from the use of crossdressing behavior as a container for identity, to the adoption of nonbinary labels as an unconscious stepping stone, to the ways a gay male identity or a "feminine man" self-concept can obscure something deeper that has been waiting to be named. This video is for anyone who has sensed that the story they have been telling about their gender may be smaller than the truth.
