"I Found Out I am Transgender. Now What?" Gender Therapist Offers Guidance.

Dr. Z explores the number one question people ask: "I just found out I'm transgender, what do I do?" This video is specifically for people who know they have gender dysphoria, know they're transgender, and are asking what to do now—not for those still figuring out their gender identity.

When you first realize you're transgender (using transgender as huge umbrella term covering trans men, trans women, transmasculine, trans feminine, non-binary, genderqueer, gender diverse, and other gender identities), it can be and often is incredibly overwhelming—especially the older you are and the more existing ecosystem around you (life, career, relationships, family, children). You immediately become aware you're at a crossroads—standing there knowing you have to make a decision to keep moving the way you've been moving or to do something about it.

The truth: there is no one way what you do now. Dr. Z's first question: what do you want to do about it? Second question: how do you feel about your gender identity, what is it telling you, and how do you want to externalize it? Do you feel a need and desire to externalize it, to live it out?

Watch to learn why sitting with your acknowledgment and understanding what your authentic self is telling you matters more than anyone else's prescribed path.
