Three Overlooked Clues You are a Trans Woman!

Dr. Z shares three subtle signs you might be a trans woman. A lot of times we talk about signs that are more overt and easily spotted—early childhood onset of gender dysphoria, the narrative of a little boy who wanted to be a girl that continued post-puberty, engaging with stereotypically girly activities, presence of physical dysphoria where the person feels disaligned with their sex characteristics.

But what happens when you may be in deep denial or experiencing gender repression, and as a result, the clues are very subtle? Because they're so subtle, you have a hard time understanding how they collectively create a bigger picture. When clues are not black and white, you're left in confusion.

When you don't have a narrative of "I always known I wanted to be a woman" and your clues are very subtle on a daily basis, how do you know if that's really what they're telling you? If you're working with a therapist who doesn't have experience in gender, there's pretty high chance they won't spot these very subtle clues—which will further lead to confusion.

Subtle presentations of gender dysphoria can be very difficult to spot, especially for trans women or individuals who tend to feminize and have a strong feeling they may be feminizing for other reasons. It can be very confusing not to spot the signs.

Watch this video as Dr. Z addresses three very subtle signs that are easy to miss when you're in denial or repression.
