How to Set Transition Goals & Focus on Upward Trajectory.

Learn how to create your transition roadmap—Dr. Z teaches tangible goal-setting you can apply immediately.

This video helps if: (1) You want to transition but don't know where to begin and feel overwhelmed, (2) You're mid-transition feeling stuck, not progressing fast enough, not making changes, or won't reach goals. Also applies to any life transitions and goal-setting.

The metaphor: Your goals are houses/cottages/bungalows on a lake (the future). Each goal represents one house. You'll learn to build bridges so you can walk toward each bungalow—when you walk across, you've achieved your goal.

Write down everything you want to achieve regardless of whether it's possible—mastectomy, breast augmentation, voice modification, appearing more feminine/masculine, starting hormones, coming out, bottom surgery. Each goal gets its own paper.

Then brainstorm micro-steps (planks of wood) to build each bridge. Don't write "get mastectomy" as one plank—too big. Break it down: find doctor, research doctors in area, get evaluation letters, schedule surgery, ensure insurance approves. Make tasks tiny and tangible.

Schedule 1-2 planks weekly from different domains. Don't conquer one goal then move to next—work on multiple simultaneously.
