Why Baby Steps are The Holy Grail of Gender Transition!

Dr. Z discusses why baby steps are the holy grail of gender transition and shares for which individuals taking big leaps is actually a good idea and may work in place of baby steps. Baby steps are essentially taking the smallest possible step you can take forward. Big leaps mean going super fast toward gender transition and whatever you want to accomplish.

Big leaps are great ideas for people who are sure of their gender identity, sure of their goals, feel ready (not completely afraid of how things will unfold), perhaps tired of living their lives as-is and ready to move forward without wasting another minute, and ideally have access to resources and finances.

Baby steps are perfect for people who are deeply afraid, unsure (still in denial but wondering), think they're transgender but not sure, know they're trans or nonbinary and want to transition but feel deeply afraid, or want to move forward but feel like everybody's going to leave them—dealing with lots of fears or uncertainty.

Why are baby steps the holy grail? Each step is so small it doesn't scare or overwhelm you; it's something you can conquer and accomplish, and it produces outcomes: feeling more affirmed, gaining confidence, realizing the world didn't crumble, and becoming equipped for the next step.

Watch to understand how baby steps compound experiences and give you what you need to thrive.
