Age 40 & up! Here are Tips on How To Break Cycle of Self Doubt!
Dr. Z shares what you can do to help you break the cycle. This video is the sequel to her video about the number one reason why you tend to self-doubt your trans identity (especially if you fall in the category of people age 40 and up).
In that video she talked about the idea of compounding effect—how you've compounded over the years accumulation of self-coping techniques (even though they've been the midst of suffering), compounded your relationships (family, loved ones, maybe children), compounded your own self-doubt and constantly questioning yourself, convincing yourself that if you've been living with gender dysphoria for this long, you can live with it for that long.
It's hard for us as humans to let go of something we've invested time and energy in. Part of you recognizes that what you invested isn't really healthy, isn't helpful, isn't moving you forward to be happy and living joyfully, being in tune with who you are and your true self. Part of you has a hard time giving it up because you're afraid you might lose all of this you accumulated—primarily you're very afraid you might lose family, friends, relationships, kids, everything you value and hold dear.
Watch to find out how to break out of that cycle.
