Ages 18-28! Tips on How To Break Out of Self Doubt Cycle!

Dr. Z shares things you can do to help you bypass doubts and figure out your gender identity. This video is a sequel to her video about why you might be experiencing doubt and confusion about your gender identity, especially if you fall in the category between age 18 to about age 28.

There are a lot of reasons why you may be experiencing doubt. As she mentioned in that video, it's like lasagna—there's a lot of layers that sit on top of each other. You have sexuality (sexual attraction to particular individuals), then gender identity (core sense of who you are in relationship to gender), then gender expression (how you express yourself to outside world in relationship to your gender), then gender dysphoria (incongruence from not feeling comfortable with biological sex in contrast to desired gender). All those layers are interconnected and play on each other, sometimes muddling things and creating doubt and confusion.

If you fall in the younger category and you're experiencing a lot of confusion and doubt, wondering "am I transgender (do I have gender dysphoria) or am I not transgender and maybe just need to explore my gender identity?"—here are a few things you can do.

Watch to find out why you shouldn't jump to medical transition if uncertain, how social transition helps you explore, and why experimentation is key.
